Re: Outdoor gig/festival?
Kris, it's a long story, but basically the builders Blakedown, the consultants (engineers) from Canterbury city council and DDC themselves are conspiring to bugger the whole thing.
Except I won't let them.

Re: Outdoor gig/festival?
Just read that Doverweb (?) thread from start to finish. Tomorrow morning I shall take a walk to have a look. My younger son is flogging some old decks to get a new skateboard precisely because of the new facility.
Please do keep up the push to get the thing done correctly. It's obvious it will be a waste of time if it's done stupidly. And it will be dangerous, so they will shut it down.
I am frustrated to death by having to work in a brand new building about which there was no meaningful consulatation. Everything looks gorgeous, but my area has been condemned by outside inspectors as "designed from the 1960's" and I'm having to compensate for crap. I'm fighting an after-the-event battle of sorts. It's not a public battle, as yours is, and I'm having to be a persistent shit who smiles. Of course, it's too fucking late, and I've been told there is no cash left to make alterations.
Several millions of pounds for a brand new building designed by people who evidently had no idea of needs.
You seem to be ahead of the game and big reactions are required. I think you wrote on that other forum that it wasn't your job to cosy up to the Council to bond. I absolutely agree with that. It's not about tea and biscuits. It's about getting the project right.
And the three builders' websites strung together is very funny.
Anyone for Lacrosse?...
You seem incredibly resilient, and I just wanted to extend quiet support and some encouragement as a Dad who wants this town to come alive on wheels for his lad who has had a couple of years off the skateboard.
You seem like a tenacious old swine on this issue - and that's perfect.
Keep up the good work.

Bryan, show your support by posting on that website.
There is so much wrong with what they are doing.

Haven't been on here for a week or so. I'll see if it will let me in.
