As a thank you for yesterday, Kris, I inflict these tunes upon you... The files have stopped working from Romney Marsh FM, and I'd love a copy of that some time.

I have to say I cannot believe those adverts, by the way...

The things I've posted are all original pieces, except one. The ones that are the most 'worked' were either written by a guitarist friend called John Jeff, or written together, or written just by me. Another guitarist friend called Phil Baxter plays nice drone-y guitar on Manston Marie. Come Down In Time is an Elton John song that my sax playing friend Martin Cox wanted me to back him on.

I like to try to write original stuff but don't work at it very hard. Some stuff like Song For Gazza and Grandioso were 'improvised' in the sense that the machine was clicked on and I played something without thinking.

I'm sorting two big hindrances currently. I don't have a devoted music space at home and am making a cramped studio in a back bedroom. The glaring problem to my ears and fingers is that I am playing keyboards which are not weighted. I am a piano player - a two-handed player and not a synth specialist - and I'm not playing the right sort of keyboard, therefore. It doesn't matter for Mustang Sally, but it does if you want to record things with sensitivity. I'm bidding on eBay for weighted master keyboards as I have a couple of very good sound modules to MIDI in.

I'm busy with my main covers band, and two other groups ask me to dep with them every couple of months or so. There are some supreme musicians in the band I play in, and I love the standard and the camaraderie and the amount of work, even though there are some tunes which are obligatory for functions.

I do like original stuff - alone or with others - so if anyone needs a bit of keys or wants to try something, if time and schedules allow I'd think about it.

Sorry if you think this is World Of MOR but it's what I like to do - and you can even savour the cock-ups within my limited ability.

It's fun.

This stuff is RIGHT up my street, Bryan....I haven't listened to all yet, but am now. There is some really nice stuff here. The guitarist in my new band is a virtuoso jazz player, and would love to add stuff to this, I reckon. Our rehersal place is amazing (it's also where Andy Doble, and your mates from the counterfeit notes practise) and you get a c.d of the jam at the end of it as well. I'm seeing them tonight, so i'll mention all this.

Shall I just burn those radio takes onto c.d for you?

You mean here, yes?

I've rehearsed there with a number of people and like the place a lot. Especially the biscuits! ;-) The disc at the end is a godsend!

I'd love to have a play together. Please ask your mate. Life is busy, but I want to make space for some writing and/or collaborative music making in the gaps.

I would love a copy of that radio show. If you could copy it to disc...
