acoustic simulator pedals...
Are they any good?
I've had a flick through Harmony Central and was suprised to see the Behringer one getting a lot better reviews than the Boss pedal.
The main point being that in the summer with the Goes Solo band, it could be a massive boost to not have to nail my colours to the masts of electric or acoustic, and some stuff I think it could work to switch between the two sounds during songs.
I obviously don't need it for recording, I can do all that on separate guitars, but for live I could see it opening a ton of options for me...
Cheers.

No idea dude, and I'm not sure there will be many people ehre that can help yet...
Re: acoustic simulator pedals...
Aye, I gave it a few hours before I posted the same thing on the husband. I doubt there'll be much back from those quarters either. Might just buy the Behringer one, its only £17 or something. If its no good, I'll seek out alternative solutions to getting round this...

Re: acoustic simulator pedals...
Its a very specific sound, the only way to describe it is "daughter" by pearl jam.

Re: acoustic simulator pedals...
I was going to mention this the other day, but I ended up buying the Boss AC-2 from Redtim off MrJig. Because all my gear, minus my acoustic, is in Soton, I have to wait until monday to try it out and see how good it is.
If it sounds good, I'm going to be massively excited about the JGS band in the summer, if its awful, I'm going to be a bit gutted...

Re: acoustic simulator pedals...
I've given it a quick spin.
Not sure about acoustic sounding, baring in mind the amount of playing without an amp its not the same. It does however give a really nice clean sound. It needs to be on the middle pickup, that makes a great sound that I'm really happy with. Its like having a Stagg electro acoustic through a quite nice amp.

Re: acoustic simulator pedals...
I had a Stagg electro acoustic, it was bloody horrible to play, but it did sound alright through a nice amp. I wouldn't say it was nice, it was just there really.
I think it says a lot that I'd rather play a £50 acoustic with a removable pickup over the Stagg (which was nearly £200)...
