Guitar Hero:Good or Evil?

I know that plenty of people, especially guitarists, hate guitar hero. I know Dman doesnt really like guitar hero and he will probably claim it is the anti christ and anyone who has been within 100 foot of guitar hero needs to be cleansed. On the other hand many musicians believe guitar hero is a good thing as it builds a sense of rhythm and can possibly inspire people to pick up an instrument.

guitar hero is good!, howver what is not good is the geeks who have been Through fire and flames on expert mode with no missed notes. then they post it on youtube and act like they can play!!

i have to agree with you, its a good fun game, and it helped me with my finger speed loads!

Maybe I shouldnt have put this into the argument forum, I was expecting everyone to disagree with each other, I thought there would be blood everywhere.

It's not so much the game that bothers me, it's peoples attitudes to it.

Yes, it can help timing, and yes it gets people into good music.

But the real reason I dislike it is because of some comic book games store owner, that I always picture in my mind when I think of it...

I was in dover, buying my copy of oblivion, and the owner asked me if i wanted to pre-order the new guitar hero. I politely said no, and explained i was a musican, at which point he cut in and said:

"Yea, you maybe a musician, but could you ever be as good as you could be on this game?"

At that point I wanted my bass. Not to prove I could play it better than any songs that they have in the game, but to shove it so far up his arse he'd be farting E# for the next ten years...

meh, i play it with the mrs, or when we have people round, i have it on the 360, its a good alternative to the wii when we get bored with that!

I hate it, but I'm lefty and they really didn't take that into consideration. Yeah you can flip it around, but you've still got shit in the way, and it looks divvy if you're using the Strat or the LP...

Also, I've got my own little sense of rhythm, its wasted on the game.

Brilliant idea, can see why its considered great fun...I'll stick to Mario Kart though.
